Placing equal emphasis on their music and their spiritual beliefs, Summer Brooke & Mountain Faith are a Christian bluegrass band hailing from Sylva, North Carolina. The group first came together in 2000 under the name Mountain Faith, with bassist Sam McMahan playing alongside two of his children, Summer Brooke McMahan on fiddle and vocals and Brayden McMahan on banjo  . As Summer Brooke McMahan was increasingly singled out for attention in coverage of the group, they opted to change their billing to Summer Brooke & Mountain Faith; the new name appeared on their August 2017 album, Small Town Life, which included the single "Umbrella. 193. 3.
