Hometime is the fifth studio album by English singer/songwriter Alison Moyet, released in 2002 by Sanctuary Records. Hometime was produced by The Insects (Tim Norfolk and Bob Locke) who had previously worked with Massive Attack and Madonna among others
This was followed by a successful solo career, of which the CDs Alf and formed the Raindancing highlights. Also in the Netherlands, she scored big hits with Love Resurrection, All Cried Out and That Ole Devil Called Love. Her latest album, Essex appeared in 1994 and then became silent. After eight years, however, she is totally back with Hometime. Her typical poppy crooner style is obviously matured during this period, as if it were a bottle of good wine.
After a near-nine-year layoff, Alison Moyet's fifth solo album is a posh, lavish, elegant affair that shows she's lost none of her chops throughout the long layoff. Production by the Insects, best known for their soundtrack work, adds a torchy, dreamy quality to these tunes, all but two of which were co-written by the singer.
The Turn (Alison Moyet album). The Turn is the seventh studio album by the British singer-songwriter Alison Moyet, released by W14 Music in 2007. The album includes the singles "One More Time" and "A Guy Like You", as well as three tracks first written and performed in 2006 for stage play Smaller, in which Moyet starred with comedian and long-time friend Dawn French.
There can be little doubt that Alison Moyet is one of the finest voices that Britain has ever produced. Maybe not since the 1960s has there been a female vocalist that can span the range of Moyet, the early trademark of her contralto tones making her an instantly recognisable proposition. Following her split from Yazoo with Vince Clarke after their critically acclaimed second album, You And Me Both (which with hindsight showed a huge influence from her), it is fair to say that she was given little creative freedom. Her fifth album and the first on label Sanctuary. Co-written with her long-time collaborator, Pete Glenister the Brit-nominated album was produced by Tim Norfolk and Bob Locke (aka The Insects) who had already worked with Massive Attack and Madonna. Regarded at the time as her finest work to date, it is indeed a remarkable album.
Hometime is the fifth studio album of English singer/songwriter Alison Moyet. There is a gap of almost eight years between the release of Essex, the singer's previous studio album, and Hometime; this was caused by a dispute between the singer and Sony Music Entertainment, her former record label, who wanted her to produce what they saw as more "commercial" music. Hometime was the first album by Moyet released by her new record label, Sanctuary Records
