I Am HER - Camel album flac

Camel is the first studio album by English progressive rock band Camel, released on MCA Records in February 1973. By August 1972, Camel were signed to MCA Records. They quickly entered the studio to record their first self-titled album, Camel. A collection of individual songs, chiefly from Andrew Latimer and Peter Bardens, the album was greeted with muted success and MCA did not take an option for a second album.

Camel’s attempt at a commercial record unfortunately fall pretty flat with Rain Dances, continuing a string of albums that seem to lie short of the output of Camel and Mirage. The wandering ways of the album make for a confusing feel for radio-play, leaving front-man Andrew Latimer’s motives a little unclear. There are definitely good tracks here, but the album yields nothing special enough to leave a lasting impression on the listener.

It's an OK album, but hardly essential Camel. This is a good but not great Camel album. I for one actually like Breathless more as a pleasant, summer listen.

Camel disbanded shortly after the concept album Nude was released in 1981 due to alcohol and drug abuse by Ward. However Latimer continued on as the sole remaining original member of the band releasing the albums The Single Factor (1982) and Stationary Traveller in 1984 under the Camel name. Camel has continued on since, although slowly. The band still tours today, led by Latimer despite being diagnosed with Myelofibrosis. Cited as one of the inspirations of neo-progressive rock bands, Camel can truly be considered as a staple of the progressive rock genre.
