Oracle is the second album by the heavy metal band Kittie. It was released in 2001. The album shows a change in Kittie's sound. I was unhappy with some things in the band so I felt that maybe it was time for me to depart. I think it was for the best. Former Kittie guitarist Fallon Bowman, speaking about why she left the band
Oracle (Kittie album). The album debuted at in the Billboard Top 200, selling 30,000 copies. By the end of December 2001 the album sold 115,000 units in the US. By the end of 2002, the album sold 225,000 units in the US. The music video for "What I Always Wanted" received heavy airplay on the MTV2 and MuchMusic channels. The album peaked at on the Official Top UK Albums Chart Background.
My first Kittie album was "Spit"; I got it after hearing "Brackish" and loving it. I love the album "Spit". On "Oracle", the band turns away from the commercial aspect of things and is extremely heavy and at times experimental. For the most part, it works really well. Morgan Lander (lead singer) screams/growls with great intensity, trying to prove that a girl can be up there with people like Phil Anselmo and Max Cavalera.

Kittie returns from their debut album much, much angrier than before. In fact, despite the first album's aggressive tone, the band spews venom over the tracks with a brutal passion on this one. That does not always translate into great songs, as the disc opener, "Oracle," proves with its repetitive pounding that definitely sounds angry, but sounds pointlessly angry. But it can work in their favor on tracks too, like the Pantera-esque "Severed," which bubbles over with rage
When describing the difference between this and their first album, Morgan Lander said, Then we listened to bands like Nirvana, Silverchair, and Alice in Chains. Now we listen to stuff like Cannibal Corpse and Nile. Producers Garth Richardson. Writers David Gilmour & Roger Waters.
