The Kids from "Fame" was the group name of several cast members from the US TV series Fame who had a number of hit singles and albums at the height of the show's success in the UK. This success culminated in tours of the UK where they performed live in concert. A live album was subsequently released. The group came to prominence in the summer of 1982 when the series first aired in the UK and a single "Hi Fidelity" reached N.

As with the first Fame album many of the songs including "Songs", "Lay Back and Be Cool" "Dancing Endlessly", "Beautiful Dreamer", "Be Your Own Hero" and "Just Like You" had already been recorded and released by their writers. Two singles were released in the . Be Your Own Hero" was released as a single in America and although "Life is a Celebration" wasn't from this album it was used as a single to promote the album in The Netherlands

The Kids from Fame Live 1982. Taken by Ron Slenzak it features the whole of the season 1 cast, with some of the dancers in the background. This for me really is one of the standout songs from the whole 6 seasons and Erica and Debbie’s vocals mix perfectly together. I love Erica’s high vocals layer over Debbie’s just before the start of Erica’s verse. As this is Debbie’s last performance on this album I would have personally swapped this song on to side 2 and moved It’s Gonna Be a Long Night to this position rather than have 2 Debbie and Erica tracks back to back but that’s just me being picky.
