Dallol, Ethiopia is the hottest place on Earth based on year-round averages, which is to say that if you average the temperature of every place on Earth for one year, Dallol's average (again, 94°F) will be the highest. There are places in the world that are hotter at given ud, Algeria is 115°F is the hottest place in the world at the time this article first went live on TripSavvy, according to WxNow. com-but Dallol is the hottest on average

Dallol is a cinder cone volcano in the Danakil Depression, northeast of the Erta Ale Range in Ethiopia. It has been formed by the intrusion of basaltic magma into Miocene salt deposits and subsequent hydrothermal activity. Phreatic eruptions took place here in 1926, forming Dallol Volcano; numerous other eruption craters dot the salt flats nearby. These craters are the lowest known subaerial volcanic vents in the world, at 45 m (150 ft) or more below sea level.

Welcome to Dallol, Ethiopia and the volcanoes, geysers and cracked earth that make up the landscape of the hottest place on Earth. The sultry Danakil Desert surrounds the desiccated settlement, which contributes to Dallol’s unforgivingly hot climate. The annual average high temperature is 105 ˚F, but in June the temperatures can skyrocket to a fiery 116 ˚F. Heat and drought pummel Dallol, making visitors feel like they’re on another planet. Dallol lies 116m (380ft) below sea level in the Danakil Depression of the Afar region in Ethiopia and is part of the East African Rift where three continental plates are being torn apart. Dallol is one of the hottest and lowest places on Earth. Dallol itself is a dizzying riot of colour created by rain and seawater from the nearby coast, heated by magma. The sea salt reacts with volcanic minerals in the magma, creating luminescent colours. In the hottest pools, sulphur and salt react to create bright yellow chimneys. In cooler pools, copper salts blend in vivid turquoise
