Days of the New (also known as the Green album or Days of the New II) is the second self-titled album of Louisville rock band Days of the New. Released on August 31, 1999, it marks the first album following the break up of the original lineup and the last under Outpost. While not nearly as commercially successful as its 1997 predecessor, Green acquired stronger appreciation by critics and featured two successful singles.

This record was engineered by Steve Peck but was actually written and produced by two uncredited artists named Scott Claxton and Mike Richards who combined formed the group Divine Culture. Steve Peck went behind their backs and got the deal without their knowledge and got all the credit and money for the record, in fact Divine Culture were handed a copy of their own record whilst djing in Los Angeles without ever knowing it had been released !!. That aside, the record label were later informed and were totally unaware of the situation and immediately stop production. Although this unfortunate incident occurred it had some positives in that the original names for the band and tracks were used and the tracks themselves were unaltered and it got some good reviews !!. The main track 'Days of infinty' probably best described as progressive house, was later outshined by the deeper 'I Need You' with its dark undertones, deep bass and the insistent vocal, has i think in many ways stood the test of time.

I must have been misinformed about the reasons for production being stopped !! Although the rest is true, the original tracks were produced by scott and mike who actually paid for steve to put there ideas onto a D.A.T. which turned out to be these three tracks, the original D.A.T. is still in scott's possession !! and was other than slight polishing completely unaltered. The main track 'days of infinity' was made on a Roland W-30 keyboard in scott's bedroom using mainly scott and mikes samples with both of them instructing steve what to do with them. The band name was a combination of scotts idea of days of divinity (from a doors song i believe) being used but mike trimming it down to just 'Divine Culture' but retaining the name in the main track, all be it changing divinty to infinity !! The band name was also used later as a club night on hollywood boulevard, los angeles, which featured the duo as resident DJ's which was where they were given a copy of there own tracks without being aware it had been released !!

Interesting review, but I really don't know what to believe. I ran the Red Seal label, and I do not remember being informed that Steve Peck had fraudulently signed with us. I know we paid for him to take the tracks into a friend's studio, and give them a bit of final spit and polish, and a mixdown. We only stopped production of the single, because we didn't sell all that we pressed! It seems incongruous with my dealings with the guy, because when I have worked with him, he proved to be an excellent producer. I suppose the jury is out on this one!
