Gozalo!: Bugalu Tropical, Vol. VARIOUS ARTISTS. Gozalo, Vol. 4. Gozalo! Vol. 3. Gozalo. There are so many tracks (25) in this album, you can't go wrong. This is the sort of tracks I remember listening in a after-hours salsa club I used to go to in Japan. Basically, no nonesense dance shoe scorching numbers. It makes me wish that the Bugalu era's sound had been more influential in today's salsa. There are a good number of tracks that use vibes, most use heavy trumpets, a few actually have an R&B rhythm rather than the standard Mambo rhythm. 2 people found this helpful.

With an indigenous tradition of Afro-Latin percussion and an obsession with mambo in the 50s, Peru was the perfect place for the Cuban and Nuyorican sounds of son, boogaloo, and guaracha to take root. Gozalo!: Bugalu Tropical, Vol. Specifications.

Tropical forms ranging from son to mambo may not have sprung up natively in land-bound, mountainous Peru, but when they arrived, they were embraced just as fervently as in Cuba or Mexico or Colombia, by just as talented a group of performers. And by the time the '60s arrived, Peruvian artists were on their way to the groovy, streetwise boogaloo form at roughly the same time as Spanish Harlem.
