A full album of newly recording material picking up where the band left off after the Beings Rest Finally, Turn of the Century and No Great Oaks 7" single releases in 1981-82. It's been a long time between gigs but Nino Birch and Caroline Easther come together again to make beautiful hypnotic, mesmerising music, joined for the journey by Rob Mayes to deliver 12 songs.
Beat Rhythm Fashion's Dan and Nino Birch pictured in the early 1980s. The last time BRF played in Christchurch it was July 1982 and they played at the Gladstone. After nearly 40 years, BRF released its first album, the dreampop/shoegaze Tenterhook. Hard as Hell, BRF's first single in nearly four decades, went to number three in the singles chart on student radio within the first week of its release last month. With Nino Birch in Australia, Mayes (Throw, dolphin, Kimo) in Japan and drummer Caroline Easther (ex the Chills) in New Zealand, recording the album, which features a touching song dedicated to Dan, is a truly international affair and the result of years of effort
