Janie had seven country hits altogether, beginning with Don't worry 'bout me baby in 1982 and ending in 1986 with Always have always will in 1986. Neither of those hits are featured here, but the five in between are all included. The very best of Janie, as originally compiled, focused only on the period from 1982-85. In fact, the booklet claims that this album covers the first decade of Janie's music, but I assume the writer was thinking of Celebration, which was released originally to mark her 10 years as a solo artist, and was also later released on CD. The five country hits featured here are It ain't easy being easy, Tell me a lie (first recorded by Lynn Anderson on her album, What a man my man is), He's a heartache, Lets stop talkin' about it and Your hearts not in it. The final track here is Ridin' high, a duet with Merle Haggard that didn't chart.
