Memory Motel" is a ballad song from rock band The Rolling Stones' 1976 album Black and Blue. It is one of the few which feature both members sharing lead vocals. The song itself is over seven minutes long, one of the longest songs by the Rolling Stones

David John Matthews (born January 9, 1967) is a South African-born American singer, songwriter, musician, actor and record label owner, best known as the lead vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist for the Dave Matthews Band. Matthews was born in Johannesburg, and moved frequently between South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States while growing up. Matthews started playing acoustic guitar at the age of nine.

Memory Motel,' one of the highlights of the 1976 Rolling Stones album 'Black and Blue' is unique among the band's catalog for two different reasons. Also, the tune's length is over seven minutes, making it one of the longest songs ever written by the group. The song has been featured on every Stones tour since '94. It was highlighted on the '98 live 'No Security,' with Dave Matthews joining in on vocals.

Crash, Dave Matthews Band’s second RCA studio album, was released on April 30, 1996. It debuted at number two on The Billboard 200 and was subsequently certified seven times Platinum. Entertainment Weekly praised the GRAMMY-nominated album as rootsy yet exotic. Dave Matthews Band also performed as special guest of the Rolling Stones at shows in El Paso and Seattle. In October, DMB released its double CD, Best of What’s Around, Vol. 1, featuring a disc of essential studio songs and a second disc of live songs picked by fans. In addition to the Fenway Park shows, two other volumes were released in the Live Trax series: Live Trax 5: . 3. 1995 Meadow Brook Music Festival, Rochester Hills, MI and Live Trax 7: 1. 1. 1996 Hampton Coliseum, Hampton, VA.

Guest artists include Dave Matthews, Leroi Moore, and Tim Reynolds of Dave Matthews Band association. Although Dave Matthews, his guitarist, Tim Reynolds and saxophonist Leroi Moore all appear on Soko's new release, In November Sunlight (Breezeway Records, 0313); this is, by far, not a Dave Matthews Band album. November Sunlight holds all the instrumental power and potential DMB brings to the stage, but Soko's grooving is vitally different. The second cut, Your Steps Alone, is of particular interest as Sokolowski's personal dedication to the memory of Jerry Garcia. The entire album is infused with a healthy dose of jamming excitement. - Dupree's Diamond News December, 1997.

Dave Matthews Band took most of 2011 off, but their frontman spent more time hanging out than writing new songs. So Matthews considered cobbling together an album from some old unfinished material. Then I decided I didn’t want to do that, says the singer, 45. Instead, this year, DMB hit the studio with Steve Lillywhite – who produced 1994’s Under the Table and Dreaming and 1996’s Crash – and cut Away From the World (due out September 11th), their strongest album in years. Newly written highlights range from the Al Green-inspired If Only to the trippy, 10-minute epic Drunken Soldier.

There are also guest spots from Taj Mahal and Dave Matthews. All of these things give some measure of distinction to No Security, but they don't erase the feeling that this is more of a soundtrack to a spectacle than a musical event. Sure, the Stones are as accomplished as ever, the album is certainly enjoyable, but it just doesn't feel necessary. Which, again, doesn't make it any different than most Stones live records since Love You Live.
