Stephen Paul Lamacq (born 16 October 1964), sometimes known by his nickname Lammo (given to him by John Peel), is an English disc jockey, currently working with the BBC radio station BBC Radio 6 Music. Lamacq was born in Islington, London and grew up in Colne Engaine, Essex. His career in journalism began as a junior reporter at the West Essex Gazette after studying Journalism at Harlow College, Essex.

I can’t think there’s many tracks on this compilation I don’t have as a 7 somewhere, from a time when I was just discovering the indie-disco, and a subculture that I fell in love with and became my life. Another great year and my favourite release is Fela Kuti and Roy Ayers - Music Of Many Colours. For me this is Fela's best ever album and it has been really hard to get for a long time.
