Rashad Harden (October 9, 1979 – April 26, 2014), known as DJ Rashad, was a Chicago-based electronic musician, producer and DJ known as a pioneer in the footwork genre and founder of the Teklife crew. Christian DJ Rashad put out so much good music before he passed on, but this I feel is his most touching release. Let It Go is footwork at its best, the raw emotion and energy here cannot be replicated in any other genre of music. RIP to Rashad and thanks for the artists for further immortalizing this legend. Rashad began taking rapping seriously in the tenth grade, where he and his friends would record on laptops. He spent the next few years recording at local recording studios. His first big break would be touring with rappers Juicy J, Joey Badass and Smoke DZA among others, on the 2012 Smoker's Club Tour. Off the buzz from the release of the EP, Rashad was named to the 2014 XXL freshman class. On September 2, 2016, he released his debut studio album, The Sun's Tirade, to further acclaim. He began getting industry connects, forging relationships with DJ Z from DJBooth. net and Jeff Weiss who writes for Rolling Stone. From that his music begun getting passed around to various A&R's. From July 13 to August 23, 2012, Isaiah Rashad toured with Juicy J, Joey Badass and Smoke DZA among others, on the 2012 Smoker's Club Tour.

DJ Rashad (real name Rashad Harden) was a notable American electronic musician, producer, DJ, and former dancer, known as one of the pioneers of footwork/juke genre. Rashad was born in Oct 1979 in Hammond, Indiana, and grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, where he started a career in 1998. He released several full-length albums and numerous EPs throughout his career, including a Double Cup LP on Hyperdub label in Oct 2013. In Apr 2014, DJ Rashad died from an accidental drug overdose, with heroin, cocaine, and Xanax reported in his system.

DJ Rashad was a quintessential figurehead in the evolution from Ghetto House to Chicago Juke to Footwork and one of the artists to have to consistently pushed the evolution of the Footwork genre forward. He was born in Hammond, IN and moved to the deep south suburb of Calumet City, IL soon after.
