Team burst onto the scene back in 2004 with their debut album Thunder, Lightning, Strike putting the disco in discordant & red limiting all the levels. They scored Pitchfork Best New Music with their debut LP and from a small bedroom concern in Brighton emerged to take on the world. Now lovingly restored to its original glory, Thunder, Lightning, Strike is reissued and on vinyl for the first time since 2005.

Team finally unleash their new album Thunder, Lightning, Strike. Now if you've had the pleasure of listening to these two releases, you'll know they show an unashamed disregard for following the rules. The album concludes with the rather mellow Everyone's A VIP To Someone. Definitely the more sentimental of all the tracks, it closes the album in style with it's lush strings, banjo, horns and kazoo solo. Only until the melody is firmly in your head do they decide to let the crashing drums loose.

Their debut album, Thunder, Lightning, Strike, is a hazy blend of nostalgia, evoking that period through a melange of action hero theme songs, early hip-hop (from 1979-82, in particular), and traces of 70s sunshine funk.

Honestly, I'd go ing mad if I tried to categorize this album under a genre. I wouldn't call it rock, a heavy amount of sampling is present. I wouldn't call it hip-hop, unless you can name me a popular hip-hop record with distorted guitars, double dutch chants, and police sirens.
