Many musicians are nuts, this is true, but Sorrells Pickard was one musician that was almost more into nuts than he was music. He was a peanut farmer and one of the creators of Sorrells Pickard Gourmet Peanut Butter. For instance, Beatles fans that are devout enough to investigate solo projects by the Fab Four would have no doubt discovered the fine country album by Ringo Starr, the 1970 Beaucoups of Blues. His songs have also been recorded by Slim Whitman and Kenny Price. He mostly performed close to home in Florida.

Beaucoups of Blues is the second studio album by the English rock musician and former Beatle Ringo Starr. It was released in September 1970, five months after his debut solo album, Sentimental Journey. Beaucoups of Blues is very far removed in style from its pop-based predecessor, relying on country and western influences. A longtime fan of the genre, Starr recorded the album over three days in Nashville with producer Pete Drake.

Actor, singer and songwriter Sorrells Pickard was born James W. Bazzell, Jr. on September 20, 1939 in Jacksonville, Florida. He grew up on his family's peanut farm in Lovedale, Florida. Sorrells began his music career after graduating from high school; he fronted the rock'n'roll band Jimmy Bazzell and the Mardells in the late 1950's and early 1960's. Sorrells penned four songs for and played guitar on Ringo Starr's acclaimed 1970 country album "Beaucoups of Blues. In 1972 he recorded his self-titled debut album for the Decca record label. That same year Pickard served time in jail for possession of marijuana. Sorrells then went to Los Angeles, California to pursue an acting career. and the Dixie Dance Kings.

It’s a double album and the best song isn’t even listed on the track listing.

It's a worthwhile experiment-and a more democratic one than, say, his highly fluent Record Club-but, insofar as he is a wildly successful solo artist who can afford to give away his music for free, I can't see it being much more than that. as long as users at home remember that results may vary.
