Great until it clumsily stampedes like a dyspraxic elephant over The Chile Of The Bass Generation beats and bass sample! Then again clumsily badly retreads over the Mind Of Kane- Stabbed In The Back sample (and other dodgey samples etc et etc)... Stick to the piano cheesy niceness Awesome 3. But do not ever think you are hardcore. Because you are not! ;(

"Possessed" is just great. With it's doomy chords and twilight zone style synth-bell riff intro, it sets the scene. The male spoke vocal makes me laugh, but its just on the right side of awful, it's very corniness is part of the appeal of the track rather than a detraction. The production is pretty good for the period, with rich bass, nice reverb and effects, but the composition really makes it, it's just perfectly paced to keep you on your toes as new elements and riffs are brought into the mix, before the whole thing chops and changes with breakdowns, repeated stabs, a couple of "heads-down" sessions, and a spine tingling synth-led outro with "Naa-naa-na-naa-naa We're gonna get you" over the top. Fantastic. As for "Pin Up Girls", if you want to play "Take Me Away" I recommend you head straight for one of the True Faith vs Final Cut versions on Network - the vocal is far superior, and the Nexus 21 mix is the one that Awesome 3 appear to have been mimicing (or was it the other way around!?)
