Witching Hour is the third studio album by English electronic music band Ladytron. It was released on 3 October 2005 by Island Records. The album was promoted by four singles: "Sugar", "Destroy Everything You Touch", "Weekend" and "Soft Power". This album ranked at number 23 on Pitchfork's "Top 50 Albums of 2005", and at number 48 on NME's "Albums and Tracks of the Year 2005".

Witching Hour ‎(CD, Album, Promo). Firstly this Ladytron album is excellent, enough said there, but please forget this 2nd remix disc immediately. The remixes are unspeakably bad, every single last one is plodding, relentless, discordant and ponderous, in sum worthless drivel. It's a pity because one would think the original tracks capable of bearing lovely remix fruit, but this batch is rotten to the core-yuck!

But perhaps the most surprising thing about The Witching Hour is how affecting it is. Beyond the crumbling synths and the uneasy washes of white noise are lyrics that move between sounding commanding and hopelessly lost; where vocalists Mira Aroyo and Helena Marnie once sang about things like movie theatres and Commodore computers from about four steps back from mic, they're right between your ears now, their lungs fighting with the wheezing synths for airspace.

Melding dark pop and electronica together perfectly with Helena Marnie's stunning and hypnotic vocals, this album is a must-have by any fan of music. Witching Hour is stunning. That's the only way I can initially describe the third effort from e artist Ladytron. Previously, Ladytron had relied on strong beats to keep their songs afloat, and over the course of an album they would begin to fumble under the weight of themselves. Here, Ladytron instead focuses on vivid soundscapes, often with a keyboard-driven rhythm that accentuates the ever-changing palette of sound. At times, Ladytron sound like an electronic rock band. Weekend" is a driving and aggressive tune that uses a drum sample so seamless, it sounds live.
