So sure, At Our Heels has created a very fun, albeit short (for thirteen tracks it clocks in at merely twenty six minutes) album that can be catchy, loud and worth a couple listens. But creatively, they don’t really get anywhere as none of the songs provided by ‘Misanthropy and Godlessness’ are enough to carry a listener over beyond more a few listens before boredom sets in. So while the formula is tried and true, At Our Heels might need to rethink the way about how they plan on keeping the listeners attention for more than an hour of our time.

It might be considered lame to choose your own album. But it’s more lame to put the album out if you don’t stand behind it to the nth. After a succession of long, production feast-y records, we made this one short and raw. And unlike our other full-lengths we (mostly) excluded songs beyond the spectrum of what we’d play live. It’s bleak, black, doomed, and nihilistic.
