Tristan Frederick Allan Fry (born 26 October 1941, London) is a British drummer and percussionist. Fry began his career by joining the London Philharmonic Orchestra as a timpanist at the age of 17. He was a founder member of a number of ensembles, including the Nash, Fires of London and the London Sinfonietta. He also worked as a session musician with various pop artists such as The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Olivia Newton-John, John Martyn, Elton John and David Essex, among others.
The 20th century was a turbulent yet fascinating phase in the music industry. From modernism to minimalism, the previous century yielded richness that was shaped by the events that defined the era – war, race, sex, politics and religion each of which shaped the soundtrack of the bygone century. Interestingly, much of the music of the past century is as fascinating as the historical and cultural context of the century. 20th century gave us some ingenious musicians whose compositions have moved us, astonished us, baffled us, made us think, cry and made our hearts soar

21st-century classical music is art music, in the contemporary classical tradition, that has been produced since the year 2000. Some elements of the previous century have been retained, including postmodernism, polystylism and eclecticism, which seek to incorporate elements of all styles of music irrespective of whether these are "classical" or not-these efforts represent a slackening differentiation between the various musical genres.

For many, the 20th century was seen as "America's century. It was a century in which the United States' influence would be felt around the globe. Nowhere is this more true than in the world of music. From jazz to rock, America was the birthplace to some of the most influential music the world had seen-aided, of course, by the popularity of new technologies such as phonographs, and radios. The most important influence on 20th century music? African Americans and the musical culture they brought to this country – developed within the bonds of slavery. Even before the 20th century began, blues music was evolving across the country out of the traditional African slave spirituals, work calls and chants. In the mid-1970s in the Bronx, New York DJs began isolating percussion rhythms from songs and talking over and between the songs.
The second half of the 20th century was void of a dominant style in music composition. The aftermath of WWII, the advances in terms of recording and information technology, and the global political and economic context all played a role in the rise of new artistic and musical movements. Indeterminacy and chance (which had been championed by Charles Ives) rose as techniques and were adapted by the so-called New York School (John Cage, Christian Wolff, Morton Feldman).
