Transient Records based in the UK is out with a new compilation. This time, dj Sally Doolally has compiled it. She has become really popular in the psytrance scene worldwide the last couple of years, playing everywhere from Portugal to Indonesia. Here she gives us a taste of the full on trance she usually serves in her dj sets these days. First out is a collaboration between Tristan and Manmademan. Manmademan released an album (Creation Myth) on Elektrik Orgasm Records this year. Together, they have that typical intense, drifting sound of Tristan mixed with some of the crazynes from Manmademan. Track 2 is by an artist called Ninja. This is a very floating track, full of atmospheric floating sounds and a groovy rolling bass line. Aphid Moon (Jules Hammer) sneaks into most UK trance compilations these days. Here he is back in track 5, together with Hydrophonic. An intense, pretty dark, crazy full on track, definitely more varied than we are used to from Aphid Moon, so Hydrophonic has obviously had some good influence here. Track 4 is by Swedish Chromosome (Anders Nilsson). He has improved his style a lot lately, and is releasing good quality stuff these days, both as Andromeda and Chromosome. The track we get here has some really crispy psychedelic sounds, voice samples and a groovy drift. My favourite track on this compilation. Track 5 is by Safi Connection (Misha Bitton) from Israel. He is involved in tons of projects, like Neo Logic and Switch. Here we get melodic full on Israeli trance. Groovy track with some really nice, trippy melodies. Definitely one of the better tracks I have heard by Safi Connection. Then we get a new track by Bus, which is a veteran in this scene. This one goes really weird, with tons of twisted, noisy psychedelic sounds. A bit too noisy for my taste, but there are some melodic parts in there that lightens it up. Track 7 is by a new upcoming Israeli act called Chemical Drive. This is bikini trance as Sally says. Floating morning trance with a typical Israeli, groovy bass line and some far out crazy melodies. Track 8 will probably come as a big surprise to many. This is a new track by Planet B.E.N. hos is known for only making very minimal trance. Now he has finally gone another direction, and gives us a totally full on trance track with guitar, heavy bass line and crazy sounds. This is actually a taste of his forthcoming album called Full On. The last track we get on this compilation is by someone called Blue Lunar Monkey. This goes a bit slower, still with tons of crunchy psychedelic sounds. This compilation sure proves that Sally Doolally knows how to pick out the right tracks. A lot of strong full on here, and it is also very varied compared to most full on compilations these days.
