In December of 2001, broke but hungry to get something out (and feeling Minneapolis needed to hear what we were doing), we decided to try and record our debut album ourselves. We holed up in our practice space for the night and let our friend Kevin Samuel commit it all to tape. We all liked the record but ultimately held out for a professional recording

At one point, Ben and I were tossing around the idea of a cover album of classic hardcore punk songs, but it never happened. I think we would have been pretty adept at it. There were a couple other covers we did that we regrettably don't have recordings of: for a while we were doing a massive cover of the Cure's "Plainsong" (which Matt hated playing as it sounded too much like our own material), Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing" (which Ben always rocked the vocal on), and at one show we did an.
