The album title was hinted at through promotional videos that teased ‘Mania Entertainment Group’ and ‘Mania Beach Resorts’

Fav Tracks: The Last Of The Real Ones, Wilson (Expensive Mistakes), Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea. Least Fav Tracks: Young and Menace, Sunshine Riptide, Church, Champion.

Torn between old-school, die-hard Under The Cork Tree fans, fans who were barely born when Take This To Your Grave was released, critics and. What these vastly different singles all showcased is that Fall Out Boy still refuse to be confined to any one genre. However, while enjoyable, it wasn’t until this writer listened to the album in full a few times that its sonic intentions began to reveal themselves.
Fall Out Boy have always been more interested in being popular than cool, and the longer they stick around, the better that philosophy functions as a survival mechanism. Fifteen years since the Illinois emo quartet’s debut album, and a few years into their comeback as one of the most famous rock bands in the world, the Fall Out Boy of 2018 are, for better or worse, essentially Aerosmith in the late ’80s
When Fall Out Boy initially announced their seventh LP, M A N I A, last April, fans were thrown for a bit of a loop upon hearing the rackety, EDM-influenced initial single "Young And Menace. With a then-oddly spaced album title (first styled M A N I A) and bright neon-colored cover, FOB seemed to be going in a new direction for their next project - that is, until they scrapped almost the entire thing. M A N I A was initially set for a Sept. 15 release, with a fall tour to coincide.

Fall Out Boy eventually signed a deal with Fueled by Ramen, the Florida-based label co-owned by Less Than Jake drummer Vinnie Fiorello, but also received an advance from Island Records to record a proper debut album. The advance came with a right of first refusal for Island on Fall Out Boy's next album, but it also financed the recording of Take This to Your Grave, which occurred at Butch Vig's Smart Studios compound in Madison, Wisconsin, with producer Sean O'Keefe (Lucky Boys Confusion, Motion City Soundtrack) at the helm. In April 2017, Fall Out Boy revealed that their forthcoming seventh album, M A N I A, would be released later that year.
