Knockturn Alley is a shopping area off Diagon Alley in London. It is filled with numerous shops devoted to the Dark Arts, including Borgin and Burkes, which specialises in objects that have curious and strong magical properties. Unusual, sinister and sometimes dangerous individuals walk around and shop in the area. When Tom Riddle left Hogwarts he worked at Borgin and Burkes.

Knockturn Alley is a Metalcore band from Malta. Knockturn Alley was formed as a five piece band back in 2004. A couple of line-up changes, numerous live shows, headlining 2 dates in Greece and constant hard work have pushed the band forward from one strength to another. 2006 saw the band’s first recorded EP entitled The Dream is Dead - almost 3 years later and Knockturn Alley are back with their debut full length album entitled Medusa.

Described as the "most pastoral, rustic record they've ever made" by Douglas Wolk of Rolling Stone, the album reached No. 1 on the . Billboard 200 chart for the week ending February 5, 2011.
