Heaven Ablaze was one of those bands that people either loved or hated. They're more remembered for their rampant drug use and being a bunch of drunken assholes (they've thankfully cleaned up their acts), but that's another topic. They originally played a style of OSDM akin to early Deicide and Death, but changed to a style of oddly structured OSDM by their second demo. Unfortunately, despite this records strengths, it also has many weaknesses to match. For starters, the production job by Nick Reyes is flat out terrible. Their second demo sounds better than this album in my opinion. Secondly, Armando Martinez's drumming was fast but quite sloppy and rushed in some songs. The double bass drumming on The Curse Of Their Jesus and Prism Of Nothingness were ridiculously off on several parts.
