A slight return to experimental electro after the downtempo breakbeat of their EP work during 1999, the second Two Lone Swordsmen full-length for Warp also explores the minimalist side of techno and harks back to the early-'80s synth-funk Andrew Weatherall championed on his Nine O'Clock Drop mix disc for Nuphonic. Except for a few tracks of free-form ambient wallpaper, Tiny Reminders is pretty hard hitting, at least for Two Lone Swordsmen.

Album: Tiny Reminders, 2000. The Two Lone Swordsmen, Andrew Weatherall and Keith Tenniswood may be long-acquainted partners in the field of techno innovation, (before Two Lone Swordsmen, they worked together throughout the mid-1990s as part of seedy post-acid house rogues Sabres Of Paradise) but they've never fallen into the po-faced techno-trap of ng their music.

Two Lone Swordsmen's new direction takes getting used to, and From the Double Gone Chapel isn't an easy first listen for longtime fans. The contrasting styles don't always sit comfortably, but individual tracks sparkle with creativity and the newfound dark side is a surprisingly pleasant fit. Raw and impulsive, From the Double Gone Chapel 's tattered edges do it justice

Mr Weatherall and Mr Tenniswood just get better and better with every release - from abrasive 'bowel bass' tracks like 'Brootle' and 'The Bunker' to the most heart breakingly beautiful compositions like 'It's not the worst I've looked...' (god that's such an amazing piece of music!) Start with this album and work your way back - true genius.

This album is a potentially life changing experience. Bowel-crunching bass, cool synth sounds and quality samples all thrown together to produce music like you've never hear before. Quality electronics from the Chief Electrician!
