Brüder des Schattens – Söhne des Lichts (English: "Brothers of the Shadow - Sons of Light") is the tenth album by Popol Vuh. It was originally released in 1978 on Brain Records. In 2006 SPV re-released the album with one bonus track that was originally released on the remix compilation Sing, for Song Drives Away the Wolves in 1993. The first two tracks from this album were used for the soundtrack of Werner Herzog's film Nosferatu the Vampyre.

Popol Vuh - Br�der des Schattens - S�hne des Lichts (1978). This is my first Popol Vuh record, and I really did not know what to expect. First of all this record has little to do with the Krautrock movement. All tracks from the original album feature on the 2004 reissue of Nosferatu (except for the S�hne Des Lichts part which you can get on other compilations). It makes this album entirely redundant but for dedicated fans.

Höre, Der Du Wagst starts with the gentle sounds of sitar and piano for a slow brooding buildup, then the pace picks up with Das Schloss des Irtums where the guitars gain prominence and likewise on Die Umkehr. The real masterpiece is the title track Brüder des Schattens, Söhne des Lichts with its hypnotic, repetitive melody line and its gorgeous sitar, piano and guitar.
