Original Benny Goodman Trio and Quartet Sessions, Vol. 1: After You've Gone is a jazz compilation album by Benny Goodman. Released in 1987, it consists of selections recorded and originally released by Victor during 1935 and 1936. The personnel included Goodman on clarinet, Teddy Wilson on piano, and Gene Krupa on drums. When the trio became a quartet in August 1936, the fourth member was Lionel Hampton on vibraphone

Benny Goodman – Benjamin David Benny Goodman was an American jazz and swing musician, clarinetist and bandleader, known as the King of Swing. In the mid-1930s, Goodman led one of the most popular groups in America. Goodmans bands launched the careers of many jazz artists. During an era of segregation, he led one of the first well-known integrated jazz groups. In 1940 Hampton left the Goodman organization under amicable circumstances to form his own big band, Hamptons orchestra became popular during the 1940s and early 1950s. The first ever album, it was one of the first records of Benny Goodman music issued on the new long-playing format. A landmark recording, it was the performance given by a jazz orchestra in the famed Carnegie Hall in New York City. This album was sold in a set of nine 45 rpm records in the same year by Columbia.
