Son of My Father is a 1972 album composed, produced and performed by Giorgio Moroder. The tracks "Tears", "Underdog", and "Son Of My father" appeared in the 1972 film Die Klosterschülerinnen, which Moroder also composed the score too. Shirocco later reworked a version of "Tears" with vocals and released it as "Es War Nur Ein Traum". The track "Automation" appeared in the 1972 film Oswalt Kolle: Liebe als Gesellschaftsspiel. Before all the superstardom, Giorgio released this fun little album in 1972. It would be his first honest taste of chart success. This album was quite a hit all over Europe, North America and numerous other countries. It spawned such hits at "Underdog" and the massive hit "Son of My Father" which would also be a hit for Chicory Tip. The album ends with the genius song "Tears", which is basically the same 4 bars repeated over and over. Never has simplicity sounded so good. This album really displays the maestro's knack for a catchy pop melody.

version "Son of My Father" under the moniker Giorgio . The song was used in Life on Mars series 2 in 2007. In the first season of the Netflix show, Master of None, Son of my Father is the played at the end of episode 2 entitled, The Parents.
