The Gingers started 2007 by playing Peaches and Cream Festival and the Big Day Out in Melbourne. Stephen Lavery (ex-The Vaginals) joined on lead guitar and vocals while Jackson switched to rhythm guitar. In September that year The Gingers released a split EP, Giant Panda EP: The Goons of Doom Split The Gingers, with Sydney surf rock band, Goons of Doom, on half the tracks.

The giant panda, also known as panda bear or simply panda, is a bear native to south central China. It is easily recognized by the large, distinctive black patches around its eyes, over the ears, and across its round body. The name "giant panda" is sometimes used to distinguish it from the red panda.

Ever since, WWF has been working with the government on initiatives to save giant pandas and their habitat, including helping to establish an integrated network of giant panda reserves and wildlife corridors to connect isolated panda populations as well as working with local communities to develop sustainable livelihoods and minimise their impact on the forests. These efforts have seen the number of panda reserves jump to 67, which now protect nearly two-thirds of all wild pandas.

Goons of Doom is a band often described as surf rock, rock, and horror punk. Formed in 2004 in Narrabeen, New South Wales, the group consists of members Ozzy Wrong (the stage name of professional surfer, Ozzie Wright . Ozzy Wright), "Cutthroat Cowboy" (Ryan Cowell), "Killa Whale" (Timothy Cooney) and "Vaughn Dead" (Adam Blakey). Formed without any of its members mastering their instruments prior to their first show, Goons of Doom recorded a rudimentary debut album, Bikey Zomby (EP, 2005).
