Billy Talent is the debut studio album of Canadian band Billy Talent, after their first, Watoosh!, was released under their old name of Pezz in 1999. Billy Talent was certified 3 times platinum in Canada in January 2007. The album was nominated for Best Rock Album at 2004 Juno Awards. The album was recorded at The Factory in Vancouver, British Columbia. In 2005, Billy Talent was ranked number 453 in Rock Hard magazine's book of The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time.

The package includes the original album plus a second disc that features the identical track listing and sequence but gives the fans a chance to hear the songs in a different light, including: The original demos, live recordings from shows and special in-studio performances. The album also includes a 16-page booklet with a forward written by George Pettit from Alexisonfire.
Billy Talent takes its curious handle from a character name in the 1996 mock rockumentary Hard Core Logo, which traced the continuing adventures of an aging Vancouver punk band. The reference is probably more resonant in the Talent's home base of Toronto; everywhere else, it's a little awkward. Fortunately, the quartet's eponymous Atlantic release struggles mightily to make music matter more than moniker or stylized genre revivalism
