Government Plates is the third studio album by experimental hip hop group Death Grips. It was released for free download on November 13, 2013, following the release of the single "Birds" in August 2013. It was also uploaded by the band to multiple file sharing sites. Accompanying the album are eleven music videos, which were uploaded to the band's YouTube page. The album has sold 13,000 copies as of March 2015.

It features some of their loudest and most experimental work. Some have been critical of the album, because a number of tracks don’t feature MC Ride very prominently. Due to the looping-style of production, many songs simply feature a phrase or two being sampled in numerous ways. Each track has a corresponding music video posted on the Death Grips YouTube page, leading some to view this album as a soundtrack.

They released their third album, Government Plates, in 2013. Following several broken performance commitments, the group announced their "disbanding" in July 2014 along with the release of their fourth album The Powers That B. However, in March 2015 the group revealed that they "might make some more" music and later announced a world tour. In March 2018, Death Grips posted images on social media outlining that they were "working on the new album" titled Year of the Snitch with Australian noise artist Lucas Abela, New Zealand film director Andrew Adamson and Tool bassist Justin Chancellor. In April, Death Grips uploaded a video to their YouTube channel writing the track listing.

Death Grips' fourth album Government Plates loudly reestablishes the band as a group freed by having no ideals whatsoever, making music without a past about a present with no future. It isn’t defined by dissonance, volume, or abrasion so much as discomfort, Death Grips trying to figure out how to advance a sound that won’t stay still. Whenever Death Grips get accused of bad intentions, they’re usually guilty of bad judgment. It’s easy to understand why people get offended by their dick moves, both literal and figurative

Government Plates ‎(LP, Album, Unofficial, Min). Not On Label (Death Grips). Sounds cleaner than some of the official Death Grips pressings. Does not include inner sleeve and jacket is slightly small. This is easily remedied with third party outer and inner sleeves. Sounds basically exactly like the digital master but no major issues (other than some minor gaps in tracks) or surface noise.
