Kirya (an ancient Hebrew nickname for Jerusalem) was Ofra Haza's 1992 follow-up to the internationally successful Shaday (1988) and Desert Wind (1989). Building on her successful blend of European pop and traditional Middle Eastern sounds, the album was a logical next step for Haza.
Producer – Bezalel Aloni, Don Was, Ofra Haza. Producer – Jane Oppenheimer. Recorded By – Ed Cherney, Steve Deutsch. Identical except for the matrix to Kirya, which is a repress by Cinram GmbH. Kirya" is definitely a wonderful example of the legacy Haza left, when she passed away in 2000. Although some call her the "Madonna of the Middle East," in my opinion I think she is far more talented, prolific and outstanding. For starters, Ofra Haza was devoutly religious, as a Yemenite Jew, from Israel, had a clean sound, put ancient poetry to music, and used her voice as an instrument for peace and liberation

Ofra Haza (עפרה חזה) (born as Bat-Sheva Ofrah Hazah in Hatikva, Tel Aviv, Israel on 19 November 1957 - died 23 February 2000). In 1969, at the age of 12, Haza joined a local theater troupe, and manager Bezalel Aloni spotted her singing talent. He staged many of his productions around Haza, and later became her manager and mentor.
