Lawrence H. "Larry" Lee, Jr. (March 7, 1943 – October 30, 2007) was an American guitarist and singer-songwriter from Memphis, Tennessee, best known for his work with Al Green and Jimi Hendrix. Lee was an old friend of Jimi Hendrix and Billy Cox. They had all played together in various R&B acts, and in 1969 Lee joined Hendrix's new band Gypsy Sun and Rainbows as rhythm guitarist, occasionally playing alternating lead.
The Walker Brothers released it on the album The Walker Brothers in Japan in 1968. Larry Bright, John Marascalco. Released on. The Walker Brothers in Japan Album 1968.
Larry Bright was born Julian Ferebee Bright in Norfolk, VA, on August 17, 1934. His stepfather, a Navy man, nicknamed him "little Larry. The Bright family moved frequently around the South, finally settling in Corpus Christi, TX, where Bright learned to play the guitar. He was exposed to a musical diet comprised mainly of southern Texas blues, which later influenced everything he ever played or wrote. Tide found out and sued Rendezvous, retrieving the master tapes for a number of singles (Rendezvous, meanwhile, released Bright's "Twinkie Lee" single under the name Pete Roberts). Bright continued to record for Tide and released several more singles, including "Bloodhound," "One Ugly Child" (later covered by the Downliners Sect), and a great version of Andre Williams' "Bacon Fa.
Larry Bright has been played on NTS in shows including Music To Ease Your Disease, featured first on 2 March 2014. Songs played include Sunbeam, Tomorrow's End and Majestic. Larry Bright's brilliant fusion drumming has earned him a place as one of the hottest jazz performers around, he now coaches drummers and has become somewhat of a celebrity recently with the release of a video drumming tutorial. His advanced rhythm patterns and explosive style have gained him acclaim as the preferred drummer for progressive jazz artists worldwide.
Larry Bright - jazz/fusion drummer, Sun Ra, Ahmad Jamal, Buddy Guy, John Scofield, John Lee Hooker, Paquito D'Rivera, Frank Gambale, Gary Grainger, Carl Filipiak. This is without a doubt the most practical piece of drum hardware to come out in a long time. I've had the privilege of playing with the legends of jazz, and the road time that goes with that and clinics over the years.
