Stefan Obermaier (born 8 January 1981) is an Austrian electronic musician, producer and DJ. Born in Schwarzach/Pongau in Salzburg, Stefan Obermaier lives and works in Vienna since 2001. He produces different house music styles, downtempo and electronica. His parents gave Stefan Obermaier his first electronic keyboard when he was just five years old. In the early 1990s, already he played in various funk and jazz projects

Stefan Obermaier is the kind of artist who doesn’t have B-sides. His EPs have always overflowed with nightlife, with relaxed ecstasy and collective climax. Obermaier has total artistic freedom under his own label, Drift Recordings, but thankfully he hasn’t gotten caught up in self-absorbed experiments, nor leaned on the laurels of his successful recent EPs. Instead, he keeps pushing the envelope with a stoic calm and a rare love for detail.
