Philip Neil Murray (born 27 August 1950) is a Scottish bass player, best known for his work in Whitesnake, The Brian May Band, Black Sabbath and with Gary Moore. Originally a drummer who started playing bass in 1967, Murray formed his first band with school friends in 1967 (Slap Happy and the Dum-Dums).

Nearly three years after the release of his second album, These Hands, Murray has crafted another moving array of moods and tales in Dust. Much more spiritual, this latest recording in part further develops a country-soul style

Neil Murray: Australian musician, itarist and writer. He was a founding member of the Warumpi Band which was the first major rock group with mostly Indigenous members and was an influential Aboriginal rock band. Murray was recognised as one of Australia's foremost songwriters at the APRA Awards of 1995 by winning Song of the Year for "My Island Home" - as covered by former band mate, Christine Anu.
