This album is Massacra at their creative songwriting peak. Everything about it just paints a perfect picture of what death/thrash should sound like. Coming hot off the heels of their classically influenced Enjoy the Violence, Massacra cranked up the violence level even higher on this death/thrash masterpiece. Massacra's debut Final Holocaust was alright but when compared to the death metal that came out in 1990 it felt very tame and regressive sounding. The production was horrible, the songwriting was weak, and their playing was sloppy. Signs of the Decline is basically an essential classic. Literally everything on this album is absolutely top notch. Completely Khrushchevian in terms of throwing riffs at you.
