Man or Astro-Man?–ostensibly four stranded space aliens who took the guise of college students. With their unique blending of punk, electronica and surf music performed with a large amount of energy in visually exciting live shows they quickly gained an audience. Man or Astro-Man? crash landed in Auburn, Alabama, USA in 1992. They are known to play some of the most pristinely crafted surf instrumentals since the 1960s.
Destroy All Astromen! was the second recording released by the surf rock group Man or Astro-man?. Often cited as their second album, it is actually a compilation of tracks that appeared on 7"s recorded the previous year (1993). The first pressing was a limited red vinyl pressing of 200 copies. Space-age surf rockers Man or Astro-Man? return in 2013 with their first album of new material since 2000′s A Spectrum of Infinite Scale. The group reformed in 2010 to play a series of shows, and three years later, the Georgia-based sci-fi guitar slingers have a new set of material, recorded with Steve Albini in Chicago (as well as with Daniel Farris of Denial Labs in Birmingham, Al. I liked this album a lot but, I still don't have that same jamming feeling that I get from when I listen to their first album. If you love "Man or Astro-man? " though i would still pick this up. Also if you plan on getting the vinyl version, it also comes with a digital code so you can download the album.
