Between 1976 and 1982, Blondie released six albums taking off only one year, 1981 when their first Best of Blondie album was released. Due to the health of guitarist and composer Chris Stein the group took a hiatus after 1982 and Deborah Harry continued to release solo albums until the group reformed in 1999 and released their ninth studio album in 2011.

Once More into the Bleach is a remix album released in December 1988 by the band Blondie and Debbie Harry. The 13-track compilation contains remixes of Blondie songs and material from Debbie Harry's solo career. The title of the album is a pun on a line from Henry V, a history play by William Shakespeare, "once more unto the breach", with a nod to hair bleach.
