After Schayer joined Bad Religion in April 1991, the band immediately started work on their follow-up to Against the Grain.

Like a rock Like a planet Like a fucking atom bomb I'll remain unperturbed By the joy and the madness That I encounter everywhere I turn. I've seen it all along In books and magazines Like a twitch before dying Like a pornographic scene. There's a flower behind the window There's an ugly laughing man Like a hummingbird in silence Like the blood on my door It's a generator. Like the blood on my door Wash me clean and I will run Until I reach the shore

Band Name Bad Religion. Album Name Generator. 2. Too Much to Ask. 3. No Direction.

Album · 1992 · 11 Songs. Following the seminal punk rock trilogy of Suffer, No Control, and Against the Grain, 1992’s Generator opened a new chapter for Bad Religion. The essential components-bouncy hardcore riffs and Greg Graffin’s distinctly sonorous croon-were still there, but there were new elements that felt more like '90s alt-rock than '80s punk rock.
