Anymore For Anymore is the first of three top-notch solo studio albums in which Ronnie crafted his own brand of rock that included a pastiche of styles and instrumental combinations, backed by a sometimes large ensemble of mostly acoustic instruments. As on most of The Faces' albums and his solo records, Ronnie and Slim Chance play a variety of covers and Ronnie's excellent original songs. Anymore For Anymore starts with "Careless Love," an excellent choice to set the tone for this album as well as Ronnie's solo career. I was Ronnie Lane's "Roadie" with THE FACES and "Tour Manager" with SLIM CHANCE from 1972 to 1977. This was Ronnie Lane's first "solo" album after he left THE FACES in the spring of 1973. It was recorded in April and May 1974 using his own 16 track mobile studio - LMS - housed in a 26 foot Airstream trailer.

Ronnie Lane's Slim Chance is the second solo album recorded by Ronnie Lane, one of the founders of Small Faces and Faces, after he left Faces to live on a farm in Wales. In homage to his perceived chances of commercial success, he named his band Slim Chance. Six of the thirteen songs on this album were written by Lane, the rest of Slim Chance, and Kate Lambert, his wife; the remainder were cover versions. Haunting, profound, and witty, the album did not exceed his commercial expectations.

Ronald Frederick "Ronnie" Lane (1 April 1946 – 4 June 1997) was an English musician, songwriter, and producer who is best known as the bass guitarist and founding member of two prominent English rock and roll bands: Small Faces (1965–69) and subsequently Faces (1969–73). With Small Faces he was nicknamed "Plonk". After their breakup, reorganisation and Lane's losing the band's frontman slot to Rod Stewart, he earned the nickname "Three-Piece".

Anymore for Anymore is the debut solo album by Ronnie Lane, one of the founding members of Small Faces and Faces. The recording sessions started in 1973 at his 100-acre (40 ha) farm in Wales with his new band Slim Chance, using Ronnie Lane's Mobile Studio. The album has more of a rootsy, folk-rock sound than his early recordings with Faces.

A heart-tugging riff from Slim Chance's "Give Me a Penny" shows up three years later on "Annie" from Rough Mix, another fine collaboration between Lane and Townshend. If you're going to get Slim Chance (and you should), pick the version that leads off with "The Poacher. Helped by Gallagher and Lyle, the song and its exquisite orchestration captures the spirit of the English countryside.
