And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out. Overview (current section).

But Yo La Tengo have spent their long and noble career proving there’s another side to the story. Guitarist Ira Kaplan and drummer Georgia Hubley are married people who like each other, quite the rock & roll novelty. After fifteen years of making great music together, they’re indie rock’s most revered artists, and part of their appeal is their enduring, endearing bond as the Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward of the garage. They’re the most creatively fierce married band mates in music history - well, except for maybe Missing Persons

For years, Yo La Tengo have cranked out incredibly diverse albums with songs ranging from gentle western twang, to noise-fueled indie anthems, to lengthy, distortion-soaked instrumental epics. But here, Yo La Tengo have eliminated the noise they built their name on. 'Upbeat' is no longer an accurate descriptor for the trio's music.

Yo La Tengo ‎– And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out. ャンル: Electronic, Rock. The whole album has this soft melancholic atmosphere. Time slips in and out of place with snipits of reality intertwined. Although it is very laid back, Id say it is quite abstract lounge music. The title of the album sort of sums it up. My only real complaint is the song Cherry Chapstick. Although it is really wicked, reminding me of their earlier intensity, it sort of sticks out like a sore thumb in comparison to the rest of the album. The last track is a fantastic droney ambient piece clocking in around 17minutes.
