Al Hirt applied his larger-than-life presence and blustering trumpet histrionics to become an icon of New Orleans style. He always had one foot firmly planted in the broad humor of vaudeville, making this brassy collaboration with one-time femme fatale Ann-Margret as appropriate a collaboration as his lengthy guest shot as part of the show in the Chris Owens burlesque house on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.
