Joe Budden is the eponymous debut studio album by American rapper Joe Budden. It was released on June 10, 2003, by On Top, distributed by Def Jam. Recording sessions took place from 2002 to 2003, with production by Dub B aka White Boy, along with the other high-profile producers such as Just Blaze and Lofey.

The album probably has more features than any other Budden project, but it's not overbearing. Also, Joe does not move away aimlessly from what he is good at and what he enjoys, as clearly showcased through the endings with live instrument solos ("You and I," "Ghetto Burbs" and "Tell Him Somethin"). Lastly, the Mood God lives up to his name, distributing many emotions that are symbolic of all those he has experienced as an artist and as a man throughout his career that seems to be resurrected, in a good mood.

With his hard-hitting crew Slaughterhouse acting as an outlet for his inner thug, rapper Joe Budden uses this 2013 solo effort as an opportunity to get introspective, capping off a quadrilogy of concept albums that began with 2008's Halfway House. Padded Room and Escape Route (both 2009 releases) are the other albums that comprise Budden's epic memoir on wax, and now that he's come to the enlightened and reflective point of the story, he's gone a bit Drake.

Still, Budden has endured for over a decade, and has earned his loyal following. No Love Lost finds him attempting to cash in on all of the above with some of his more radio-friendly material since his 2003 self-titled debut.

Jump off Joe Budden aka That Dude is one of those cats I knew off but never paid any real attention too as I just passed him off as any other rapper, and being what you would consider a 'real head' I had no intention of checking for him. I happened to hear a couple joints of 'Mood Music' and was hugely impressed by his awesome flow and excellent lyrics, so I thought I'd give him a go and cop the whole thing and boy I am glad I di. Mood Music' is as good as any album out so considering the fact it's more of a mixtape is all the more amazing. I cannot recommend this CD more nor can I hold Joe Budden in any higher regard. Please do yourself a massive favour and purchase a copy, as I can't think of an artist or CD more deserving of your well earned money.
