No Heroes is the sixth studio album released by American metalcore band Converge. It was released on October 24, 2006, via Epitaph Records. The album was produced by Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou and the artwork was created by the band's singer Jacob Bannon. No Heroes peaked at number 151 on Billboard 200 chart in the United States. On October 24, 2006 a music video was released for the title track of the album, the music video was directed by Ryan Zunkley.

In stark contrast to the moderately ambient opening of their last record, You Fail Me, No Heroes begins with the doomy chords of "Heartache", which lasts for just a few seconds before the onslaught of ridiculously fast riffing and drumming begins. It's pretty amazing to think Converge has been around almost as long as some of you have been alive, especially considering this sixth full-length is packed with some of the most ferocious moments in the Boston quartet's 15-plus year history. These 14 right hooks are buff motherfuckers, rendered in various shades of blacks and blues and reds, but it's the opening tandem that really cooks. Nowadays, instead of overstuffed, that older album sounds a bit thin. It's a comparative backward glance: Guitarist Kurt Ballou did an especially fine job recording No Heroes. Musically, as if panning for gold, the band removed everything extraneous and came up with something richer. Also surprising: No Heroes is the longer record of the two, even with fewer songs. But because the writing's strong, it speeds by. You see what I'm getting at?

Now comes "No Heroes", an album that brilliantly combines the textural sonics of "You Fail Me" with the brutal assault of "Jane Doe". Converge are poised to follow in the footsteps of bands like Darkest Hour and Norma Jean. While Converge fans argue over whether any of their records can come close to "Jane Doe" or whether "You Fail Me" was a worthy successor to "Jane Doe," "No Heroes" tends to fly under the radar a little bit. If you like anything Converge has ever done, you'll find something in this record that you'll love.
