On the 19th of August, at MTV Studios in London, Placebo played to a small room of lucky fans for what is the restart of MTV’s incredibly popular Unplugged series. Joining such illustrious company as Nirvana and Jay Z, Placebo re-arranged every one of the songs they played to fit the format, enlisting the help of Fiona Brice on the string sections and a sizable woodwind ensemble.

On the 19th of August, Placebo performed a unique one-off show for MTV Unplugged at the London Studios in the UK. Here we present the results of this incredible show. The band were encased in spectacular LED box during the performance, from where they belted out some of their most well-loved tracks such as 'The Bitter End' and 'Every You Every M. Some new gems were dropped in for good measure, alongside surprise guests Joan As Police Woman and Majke Voss Romme (Broken Twin).

MTV Unplugged ‎(CD, Album). As a long time fan, I prepared myself for just another mainstream acoustic album, but was blown away by the songs performed from this tangent. There is a sense of a close of a chapter in the bands history - with urgency and hope for more great things to come. They're not ready to hang up the guitars just yet.
