A 42-minute full on attack, the thrash faction hold nothing back as they unleash hell as only they can, yet with more variety and dynamics than ever before. We started working on the new album in the summer of 2017, and it was winter 2017 when we met for sessions in the rehearsal room. We then rented a rehearsal studio for an entire week in the spring of 2018 and finished all the details during the following summer. Whenever we met for tours or shows we worked on stuff on the days prior to playing live.

While not quite in the same league as 2016’s The Raging Tides, Hostile Defiance can still be considered a triumph from these ever-reliable legends of the Teutonic thrash scene! 7/10.

Hostile Defiance is a no frills, zero nonsense thrash album that manages to stay true to the golden age without sounding like a moldy retro relic. It may be short on innovation, but it shows Exumer hitting a late career stride and churning out some of their best material since Possessed By Fire. If 2019 felt like it was suffering from a thrash drought thus far, prepare to be deluged with quality aggression.
