Mike Cantrell of the bands Slow Children & Blisster had his skull broken in multiple places in a horrible skateboarding fall. Was in a coma for a long time, fortunately clung to life and is now back with us. There was so much swelling in his brain that he lived without a skull for months, just recently getting it put back on. It was kept in a pressurized room in the meantime until the swelling went down. Not having health insurance is a nightmare in this country (and anywhere, I’d imagine). We are auctioning off 1 signed test pressing of our 2nd album Continuous New Behavior and 1 signed test pressing of our new album Make Me Digital. They are going together as a pair. Both records are signed on the B-side label.

Slow Children was a New Wave band from the early 1980's. Their three most popular songs were "President Am I", "Spring in Fialta" and "Vanessa Vacillating". The two primary performers were Pal Shazar and Andrew Chinich.

I've been yammering on about the wonderful singer/songwriter Pal Shazar and her former band with Andrew Chinich, Slow Children, for the past few weeks. I also purchased a CDR (from another source) of the British version of "President Am I?" (slightly different from the US version, which is represented here) and the extended remixes of "Vanessa Vacillating" and "Unplugging the Vacuum", which are also great. Slow Children just define "Quirky" and also define what New Wave was REALLY all about. Sorry folks, ABC, as much as I like them, are NOT New Wave!) Thank you again!

Still Life (Talking) is an album by the Pat Metheny Group that was released in 1987 on Geffen Records. It won the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Fusion Performance and was certified gold by the RIAA on July 2, 1992. This was the Group's first album to be released by Geffen. It combines Brazilian jazz-influenced harmonies and rhythms with jazz, folk, and pop. Group co-founders Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays joined the Geffen Records label in 1985.
