Love Hate is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter The-Dream. It was released on December 11, 2007, by his Def Jam-imprint label Radio Killa. The album's title is the abbreviation for "Love me all summer, hate me all winter". The album contains the elements for its outing as primarily a R&B and pop album, with the production that was provided by Christopher Stewart and Carlos McKinney.

Love & Hate is the second studio album by London-based singer-songwriter Michael Kiwanuka. The album was released on 15 July 2016 by Polydor Records (UK) and Interscope Records (US). The album is the follow-up record to Kiwanuka's 2012 Mercury Prize-nominated album Home Again. The album was produced by Danger Mouse, Inflo, and Paul Butler. Love & Hate also released three singles

All told, it’s a touch too grandiose, but littered with gems of hard-won self-knowledge. Maybe this time I can be strong, Kiwanuka sings, But since you know who I am, I’m probably wrong. The same unflattering self-portrait resurfaces on songs such as the exceptional Falling. I’m a man that belongs alone, Kiwanuka tells us. His eloquent orchestra is cut off at least a minute too soon. Four songs along, on I’ll Never Love, Kiwanuka is still sounding bereft, while his music is generous, a country-soul track full of succour. A squally electric guitar solo lets you know Love & Hate isn’t just another slice of vintage soul, but something a little more intriguing than that.

Love & Hate, Kiwanuka's sophomore studio effort is no slump. Nor is it a carbon copy of his critically acclaimed debut. This is anything but another all-too-self-aware soul revival album. This is a genuine, evocative statement from a man who recognizes that our world is broken in so many ways, and that each and every one of us is looking for answers of some sort. Love & Hate is powerful, raw and very real. An album that, at once, is extremely personal and also completely universal. It's also a gorgeous listen.

Throughout Love & Hate, Kiwanuka is backed by a full choir, which adds a richness not heard on his previous album. He doesn’t sound so isolated here, and the music itself feels grand and triumphant. On Black Man in a White World, Kiwanuka rides a jaunty Afrobeat instrumental to convey his inner racial strife: I’m in love, but I’m still sad/I found peace, but I’m not glad. In this instance, Kiwanuka speaks to the hearts of those who want the best out of humanity, even as the world implodes. Love & Hate is a bittersweet offering, pulling from ’60s and ’70s soul, growing more melancholy as it plays. And while it’s a creative step forward for Kiwanuka, it’s still tough to get a sense of just who he is at times. Names like Marvin Gaye and Curtis Mayfield immediately come to mind, and on The Final Frame, Kiwanuka’s spacious guitar chords recall Parliament Funkadelic’s Eddie Hazel.
