Children of God is the fifth studio album by American experimental rock band Swans. It was released on October 19, 1987, through record label Caroline. The album marks a change in direction from Swans' early work. More tracks utilize acoustic guitars and more melodic vocals. The lyrics also focus more prominently on religious themes.

The album was released on October 1, 2015 on band leader Michael Gira's Young God Records. Limited to 2500 copies, the album served as a fundraiser for The Glowing Man. The Gate was offered in a double-CD format. The album features six live recordings, with four of them being previously unreleased tracks set to be included in the next studio album

SWANS - Feel Good Now DOCUMENTING THE 1987 EUROTOUR 2002 CD Michael Gira Jarboe. Children Of God 1987. The Burning World 1989. The opener, as is common with 'Swans'' early work, is one of the highlights of the album, making effective use of Jarboe's vocals to create a sound similar to some sort of twisted gospel piece. I particularly love how this is juxtaposed by Gira's standard, deep, moaning voice, creating excellent contrast and making the song sufficiently dark.
