In 2007, Krs-One and producer Marley Marl collaborated on the track Kill A Rapper. The hook candidly states: You wanna get away with murder/Kill A Rapper. Fat Pat was a legend in Houston’s Hip Hop scene before his untimely death. When he was not representing his two crews, he appeared with fellow Houston pioneers Willie D, Scarface, Lil’ Keke and South Park Mexican. His career thrived in the mid-1990s alongside his brother Big Hawk and other pioneers of the Chopped and Screwed phenomenon. In 1997, after signing with Wreckshop Records Fat Pat began recording his debut LP, Ghetto Dreams. Sadly things didn’t workout as expected.

KRS-One is too preoccupied with two issues: one being that hip-hop will never die, and the other that he was a prominent hip-hop pioneer in his heyday. His bragging rights are certainly deserved, but instead of using his legendary status to propel hip-hop forward, or to tell interesting stories about the genre, KRS-One rants like a retired professor reciting his résumé while trying to prove that he once reigned supreme
